POSITION DETAILS

The position is responsible for:

  • Conducting investigations into potential regulatory breaches, focussing on fraudulent activities.
  • Gather and review evidence and research, analyse and interpret information to inform recommendations.
  • Draft enforcement documents for commission consideration and other documents as needed.
  • Use insights to target enforcement activities and share information as appropriate across the division on themes and trends and to close the loop on potential regulatory breaches.

The Essential Services Commission is Victoria’s independent economic regulator of essential services supplied by a range of industries. The commission’s functions include:

  • making regulatory decisions with respect to prescribed industries (including price determinations, licensing, customer protection and access disputes).
