The Department at Saint Michael's College invites applications for an Investigator to join our Public Safety team. The College is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to promote a safe environment for students, employees, and visitors while providing crime‑prevention education. This role also includes handling and investigating major incidents, conducting thorough reviews of safety concerns, promoting personal safety through training and culture‑building, and delivering staff trainings as needed. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Investigates all incidents/complaints made by faculty, staff or students for the department, student conduct and Title IX Follows up with campus incidents in a timely manner Investigate complaints of sexual misconduct and Title IX violations Regularly collaborates with student affairs staff Oversees crime prevention training and provides support to college staff Supports crime prevention and training for Public Safety officers in their duties Embodies the standards of Saint Michael's College's Beloved Community Attends conduct meetings, as appropriate. Attends student, faculty, and staff meetings, as necessary, serving as a department liaison Strong collaborator with local police departments in the investigation of campus crimes Provides and facilitate training for students and staff at various campus events On call for major campus events Ability covers shifts or assist with special events as needed The salary range for this position is $24-27.50/hr. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Associate’s degree or higher preferred Title IX or special investigation experience preferred Former law enforcement background strongly preferred, especially experience local to the Burlington area The ability to recognize several likely causes of events, analyze relationships among several parts of a problem or situation, and then formulate a multi-step response.
