We are currently seeking an experienced Investment Analyst to join our high-performing Charlotte Production Debt + Equity team. Primary asset focus is multifamily and industrial. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in commercial real estate finance, seeking hands-on involvement in underwriting, capital markets strategy, client engagement, and capital placement execution.

Responsibilities
  • Client Research & Lead Generation – In collaboration with Managing Director, conduct and sustain continuous and annual lead generation efforts, leveraging internal prospecting tools and third-party platforms. Research to include individual assets, portfolio holdings, capital structures, asset performance, sub-market conditions, and other market and asset level data by using available third party and internal resources. Research will include but is not limited to ownership records, property transaction history, demographics, and sales and rent comparables. Participate in client meetings alongside senior producers and engage in client discussions in property operations, debt, equity and asset strategy.
  • Underwriting – Independently underwrite commercial real estate properties by analyzing financials, borrower models, and market data; prepare comprehensive loan request packages with valuation, capital stack analysis, and strategic recommendations, meeting company and lender requirements.
  • Capital Sourcing – In collaboration with Managing Director, initiate and drive lender conversations and due diligence and obtain loan quotes, creating detailed quote matrices for distribution to the borrower. Manage associated Salesforce updates.
  • Team Support & Development – Provide guidance to junior analysts on underwriting best practices and deal-specific questions. Lead and oversee the completion of loan request packages utilizing junior analysts to complete the loan packages. Serve as a resource offering support and mentorship to enhance team performance.
  • Closing – Serve as the primary point of contact for the loan closing process, including acting as liaison with the servicing department. Responsibilities include collecting and reviewing due diligence and ordering and reviewing third party reports. Review lender documentation (term sheet, commitment, loan docs, etc.) and provide recommendations on modifications necessary to meet best interest of Borrower. Maintain open communication with borrowers, lenders, legal counsels, third party vendors, and internal servicing and insurance departments on an as-needed basis.
  • Client Service – Responsible for providing lenders, borrowers, and internal teams with a best-in-class experience by providing reliable, high-quality service in a prompt, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Organization/Time Management – Plan, schedule, and prioritize workload to best utilize time and efficiently manage daily tasks to include research, financial analysis and underwriting, loan packaging, and closing services.
