Description

At Allstate, great things happen when our people work together to protect families and their belongings from life’s uncertainties. And for more than 90 years our innovative drive has kept us a step ahead of our customers’ evolving needs. From advocating for seat belts, air bags and graduated driving laws, to being an industry leader in pricing sophistication, telematics, and, more recently, device and identity protection.

JOB DESCRIPTION

In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the financial insights that drive our business forward. You’ll support our accounting infrastructure and investment reporting processes, monitor and analyze portfolio performance and cash flows, and deliver insights that help Senior Management make informed decisions. You’ll also step into an advisory role on projects, recommending process enhancements and leveraging your accounting, reporting, and analytical skills to make a meaningful impact on our Investment Team.

Accountabilities:

  • Prepare and analyze investment reports, journal entries, and reconciliations to ensure accurate financial data for management, regulatory filings, and statutory reporting.
  • Support monthly and quarterly investment reporting, including consolidated and non-consolidated financial information for our Canadian team
  • Interact with external partners (e.g., investment managers) to validate and reconcile investment information.
  • Maintain the investment portfolio, process trades, and manage daily cash flows, transfers, and projections.
  • Compile and analyze data from multiple sources, creating tools and templates to support business decisions and recommend process improvements.
  • Ensure strong investment controls, resolve data discrepancies, and adhere to relevant regulatory bodies
  • Contribute to new investment processes, systems, and products while continuously seeking efficiency enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Accounting and Finance concepts; direct experience in investment accounting is an asset but not required — we’re excited to train the right candidate.
  • A strong analytical mindset with keen attention to detail, paired with solid problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create clear and insightful reports that support financial and regulatory requirements.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and resourcefulness — you take ownership, seek out ways to improve processes, and have a genuine desire to learn and grow.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills that allow you to explain complex information clearly and collaborate across teams.
  • A growth-oriented mindset, whether you’re a new grad eager to build your career or an analyst ready to take on more responsibility and exposure.
  • Comfort working with data from multiple sources to reconcile, analyze, and prepare investment portfolio reporting, including performance against benchmarks and regulatory requirements.

Allstate Canada Group has policies and practices that provide workplace accommodations. If you require accommodation, please let us know and we will work with you to meet your needs.
