Investment and Planning Officer Reference number: 11021 Closing date: 11pm, Thursday 5 February 2026 Temporary full-time role | Council Band 4, $78,842.82 per annum plus 12% superannuation An excellent opportunity to contribute to the early foundations of Council’s future investment prioritisation work. The Opportunity Moonee Valley City Council is seeking an Investment and Planning Officer to support the establishment of clear, practical foundations for future investment prioritisation. With a formal prioritisation process yet to be developed, this role plays a critical support function helping senior staff organise information, understand existing research, and develop simple structures and templates to enable informed decision-making. This is not a decision-making role. Instead, it focuses on coordination, documentation and preparation, ensuring Council is well positioned to undertake future investment prioritisation work. Key Responsibilities Building investment foundations • Develop simple templates to capture investment information • Define clear and consistent ways to record investment purpose, links to strategy or research, and expected outcomes or benefits • Assist with and appropriately refer enquiries, ensuring timely and accurate advice Supporting early prioritisation thinking • Document potential prioritisation factors such as risk, compliance and service impact • Assist senior staff with draft comparison tables and summary material for discussion • Record feedback and decisions made by others Coordination and support • Maintain organised documents, registers and folders • Track actions and next steps • Prepare short summaries and briefing notes • Support meetings and workshops as required About You You are highly organised, analytical and comfortable working with information at an early, exploratory stage.
