DESCRIPTION

We have an exciting opportunity for an Investment Intern to join our Genesis fund for a 6-month period starting either in June 2025 or January 2026. Applicants must be fluent in German and available for the full duration.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience as a full member of our investment team where you will be involved in impactful and meaningful work. This will include the opportunity to attend Investment Committees, be involved with aspects of the current portfolio investments and play an active role in researching, designing and producing high quality financial analysis, research notes and PowerPoint presentations, with an emphasis on seamless, professional execution.
In addition to being involved in various exciting projects you will learn about the production of excellent financial models, commercial analysis and the private equity investment process more generally to set you up for a successful future career in the Private Equity industry.

EXPERIENCE:

You should have at least 6 months’ of prior, relevant experience.
Essential Skills:

• A finance/economics/mathematics/business-related degree is preferred
• Effective written & verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Advanced Excel Skill
• Good interpersonal skills to enable successful working relationships at all levels
• Proactive and driven with ambition to deliver multiple tasks
• Confident and able to work independently
• Fluency in German and English

As an Investment Intern you will be accountable for various concurrent work streams including researching and analysing data, for example:

• Competitive analysis/ benchmarking
• Market analysis
• Modelling
• Research and analysis of information by sector, by sub-sector and by geography regarding prospective target companies.

You will also play an active role in the origination process, and will support with the following:

Market research

• Market mapping
• Quick analysis or new companies to assess their relevance for Hg
• Review industry conferences for relevant firms
• Prepare meetings with potential targets
