Under the supervision of the Associate Investment Manager (AIM), the Investment Officer I (IO I) is the entry, development, and first working level performing the less complex investment work and will be responsible for day-to-day functions including investment budget analysis, procurement, expense, and other finance activities, and will assist with purchasing, invoicing, and accounting analysis support to the IS team. The IO I will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient management of investment procurement, payments, expense management, purchasing, invoicing, and accounting analysis for investment services within the investment office. This includes tracking, reporting and data analysis related to their associated functions to ensure data completeness and accuracy of process. These responsibilities encompass a broad spectrum of tasks essential to the financial integrity and operational effectiveness of our investment processes. The IO I will maintain a positive and collaborative team approach while demonstrating CalPERS’ Core Values of Quality, Respect, Integrity, Openness, Accountability, and Balance in accordance with personal work ethic in alignment with CalPERS Investment Beliefs.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Onsite and virtually, assist with budget analysis for all Investment Expenses.
- Using eProcurement, facilitate and manage the purchasing process from requisitions to receipt for all administrative and investment services, ensuring all appropriate documents, accounting chart of accounts, allocations, and coding are correct within the requisition.
- Participate, have ability to navigate and utilize workflow technologies and systems in order to triage, review, and organize procurement and finance related documents.
- Responsible for communicating with the vendor community and internal business partners on appropriate vendor form submissions and updating all vendor forms proactively prior to invoicing.
Interview Dates: We anticipate interviews to be held one month from the final file date.
Telework Information: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.
