The Role Take the lead in shaping smart, service focused and lifecycle aware investment plans as a Water and Alternative water Investment Planning Manager within the Investment Planning Division. In this pivotal role, you’ll drive investment planning across the water and alternate water asset lifecycle - ensuring every investment decision and service plan is technically sound, strategically optioned, risk informed, culturally grounded and aligned with our broader goals. You will be accountable for leading a planning team responsible for medium-term investment planning over approximately a 20-year horizon, building capability and driving consistent, high-quality outcomes across planners and project groups. Your Key Responsibilities Lead infrastructure investment planning: Deliver adaptive investment plans that align strategy, service, risk, and sustainability. Inspire and develop teams: Build a high-performing, inclusive planning team grounded in continuous improvement and respect for Country. Embed asset management: Connect strategic planning with delivery and operations for practical, prioritised investment decisions. Drive data-led decisions: Use asset data and modelling to guide investment choices balancing cost, risk, service, and sustainability. Champion collaboration: Work across divisions to embed asset management, regulatory alignment, and cultural, environmental, and community outcomes. What we’re looking for Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science or a related discipline – mandatory Demonstrated experience in asset management, reliability, and developing integrated master/servicing plans that balance growth, environment, and financial sustainability. Direct water and alternative water planning experience is highly regarded. Proven ability to deliver practical, forward-thinking engineering solutions, including nature-based solutions, and risk-based investment decisions. Strong people leadership skills in coaching, mentoring, and motivating teams to achieve high performance. Skilled in data analysis, reporting, and using insights to guide strategic investment decisions.
