TEAM SUMMARY

The Investment Management and Research (IMR) team is responsible for designing, managing, and maintaining our suite of investment strategies for our clients. Three core functions exist within the IMR team: Custom Portfolio Construction and Collaboration, Investment Strategy Research and Design, and Investment Strategy Execution and Operations.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Investment Research Analyst will serve as a member of the Investment Management and Research (IMR) team with a primary focus on Investment Strategy Research and Design. The position requires a passion for understanding the intricacies of global economics, tracking down the answers to open-ended questions, and helping a wide variety of individuals navigate tumultuous financial markets. This analyst should have a keen interest in multi-asset investment research, including asset allocation research and manager due diligence (mutual funds, ETFs, SMAs), portfolio allocation and construction, and communicating their analysis via verbal or written presentation methods.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Series 65 registration (or successful completion of Series 65 within 90 days of hire)
  • Student of the Financial Services Industry and Capital Markets
  • Attention to detail and strong organization skills
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel (Knowledge of VBA preferred, but not required)
  • Demonstrates ownership of tasks and projects
  • A high degree of professionalism and work ethic
  • Ability to convey complex ideas in simple ways via written and oral communication
  • Can do attitude and high energy

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of experience in an investment analyst role with exposure to asset allocation research, manager due diligence, portfolio allocation construction, and trade order execution, preferably within an RIA
  • Knowledge of some, or all, of the following: Bloomberg, Morningstar, BCA Research, Fidelity WealthScape, iRebal, RedBlack, FactSet, RedTail, Black Diamond
  • Pursuing CFA designation
  • Experience researching and selecting managers in the private alternatives space
Responsibilities
  • Allocation research for dynamic and strategic portfolio positions, including asset classes, segments, and sectors.
  • Investment research and due diligence of mutual funds and ETFs
  • Trade order creation and execution
  • Work closely with upper management and other members of the investment management and research team to provide world class service to our advisors throughout the country
  • Act as a liaison and a product expert for our clients (financial advisors)
  • Assist the IMR team with portfolio construction and asset allocation
  • Client reporting support and data entry
  • Investment and operational projects as needed
  • Identify workflow/system improvements and work to enact changes
