SPECIFIC SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE/ ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR POSITION:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Investor Accounting
  • Minimum of 1 year of management/supervisory experience
  • Experience with Black Knight MSP preferred
  • Knowledge of loan servicing practices
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills. Advanced excel skills, preferred. must know lookup functions, pivot tables, how to manipulate and validate large sets of data.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations applicable to mortgage and consumer lending
  • Knowledge of bank reconciliations process
  • Knowledge of general ledger accounting
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and analyze accounts and records of a complex, detailed, and recurring nature
  • Supervisory skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, train, coach, evaluate performance, and lead a staff in a fast-paced environment
  • Considerable knowledge of and ability to use automated accounting systems; ability to use personal computers, peripherals, business software, and applications specific to organizational needs
  • Must be comfortable working in a start-up dynamic environment
  • Ability to work independently and minimal direction and to meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally, in person and by telephone, with all levels of the organization and with external customers

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires all forms of dexterity and mobility throughout the shift, which may include extended periods of sitting and/or standing. Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, twist, climb or balance, stoop, kneel crouch or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to speak and hear, lift and carry up to twenty-five pounds (25 lbs.) or occasionally more.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, occasionally noisy environment.
  • May be required to drive for business purposes and if so, must hold a driver’s license in good standing and maintain personal auto insurance in compliance with EHL’s Auto Insurance policy.
Responsibilities
  • Performs analysis of exception reports in order to identify trends and process improvements.
  • Strictly adheres to the Agency and Private Investor Servicing Agreements, Regulation AB, USAP and other guidelines for timely and accurate reporting, remitting, and reconciling.
  • Ensures the reconciliations or reporting of accounts for either Agency, Private Securities, or Clearing Accounts, including Test of Expected P&I are completed accurately and timely.
  • Timely and accurately prepares and delivers investor reporting for complex Agency or Private investors.
  • Prepares remittances to investors along with related cash management functions.
  • Ensures reconciling items are cleared within 90 days from the point of identification or earlier based on investor guidelines, through internal wires, escalations or investor adjustments.
  • Reviews and approves wires and GL entries as needed to remit or clear aged items timely and accurately.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of issues on the most complex scheduled/scheduled or scheduled/actual reconciliations and test of expected cash outages.
  • Provides recommendations to resolve within the Bank Recon area and for those up-stream processes that negatively impact Bank Recon.
  • Updates Policies and procedures as required.
  • Review and approve reconciliations completed by Investor Accounting Analysts.
  • Performs pre and post acquisitions boarding and reconciliation functions related to Principal and Advance balances, to include updating system balances, validating boarding/release balances to the trial balance, and reconciling any variances.
  • Performs detailed loan level analysis of loan exceptions, using Excel and various workflow and servicing systems Special projects as assigned.
  • Collaborates with internal and external auditors, as required, in their research of records.
  • Distributes day-to-day work assignments to investor accounting staff.
  • Mentors, trains, and directs activities of staff.
  • Performs quality control review as needed in Investor Accounting Department
  • Other duties as assigned.
