Job Description As a member of Vertex’s Investor Relations team, the Investor Relations Analyst is responsible for key activities supporting quarterly earnings call preparation, quarterly shareholder analyses, investor conferences, consensus reporting, stock charts and analyses, calendar/deliverables prioritization, leveraging AI tools to maintain competitive awareness, and supporting the IR team and Executive Committee as needed. This role provides support for the IR team and key insights for various Finance functions (FP&A, Accounting, BD, etc.). This position is based in our Boston, MA location (Seaport area) and requires a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in office/2 days remote on a weekly basis. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Quarterly earnings call preparation: support the team in various deliverables and analyses, including financial primers, consensus modeling, and slide development Quarterly shareholder analyses: analyze 13-F holdings and key buyers/sellers, develop preliminary investor targeting strategies Investor conference preparation: working with sell side to develop conference meeting line-ups, pull investor backgrounders for final agenda, assist with Q&A preparation Consensus reporting: request sell side financial models, work with Virtua and quality check the aggregated model; prepare consensus reports as scheduled and as requested Draft components of bi-weekly “IR Flash” Develop stock charts and other analyses as needed Leverage AI and other tools to help IR team maintain competitive and macroeconomic awareness Perform ad hoc projects to supporting the IR team and Executive Committee as needed Work closely with other members of the CFO organization including Corporate Finance, Strategic Sourcing and Accounting to maintain a continuous improvement mindset and promote strong communication, sharing of best practices and efficient processes. Knowledge and Skills: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; capacity to create ad hoc reports, financial models or analytics independently. Experience with Excel and PowerPoint; experience with business intelligence or visualization tools a plus. Strong judgment, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality. Intellectual curiosity to develop a deep understanding of business issues. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and an eagerness to collaborate with colleagues (within or outside of finance) in sharing insights and learnings. Must be able to work well with senior leaders, peers and team members. Possesses a continuous improvement mindset with the flexibility to adapt to change. Education and Experience: B.S. Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, or related quantitative/analytical/scientific field. Summer experience in a finance or analytical role demonstrating strong technical and analytical skills and a track record of success working in a team-based environment or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred but not required. Pay Range: $71,200 - $106,800 Disclosure Statement: The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
