Description
Island School is seeking to appoint confident and reliable Invigilators to join our team in order to ensure the effective running of internal/external examinations. Experienced candidates will be considered to be appointed to the Chief Invigilator position. Key Responsibilities Invigilators: Running of Exam Sessions Invigilating the examinations. Checking and putting in candidate order the completed scripts, completing the attendance register, final check and packing/sealing envelopes in the exam room with the Examinations Manager. Returning all sealed and packed examination scripts to the exam office for dispatch to the examination board(s). Additional Responsibilities for Chief Invigilators: Oversee the setup and administration of internal/external exams. Ensure compliance with exam regulations and guidelines. Lead and coordinate a team of invigilators. Monitor students during exams to prevent cheating and ensure a fair testing environment. Handle any issues or emergencies that arise during the exams. Collect and secure exam papers and materials. Provide clear instructions to students before, during, and after exams. Report any incidents or irregularities to the Examination Manager. Assist in inspection activities to ensure exam integrity and compliance. Invigilators and Chief Invigilators are to carry out all reasonable tasks that are required by the Examination Manager. Rate of pay and hours of work Invigilators are paid hourly at $139 per hour with a minimum of three hours work for each working day. The hourly rate is $278 on weekends and public holidays. Chief invigilators are paid hourly at $209 per hour with a minimum of three hours work for each working day. The hourly rate is $418 on weekends and public holidays. Although this is an hourly paid position a strong commitment to the role is required. Working hours may vary, mainly during school hours on weekdays. You are expected to work during the months of December, January, February and March and must be available during term time from May to June for the summer examination series. Location of work Currently, our new world-class campus is situated in Central which can be reached by Minibus no.9 in Central MTR Station. Requirements Good command of written and spoken English. Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Independence, competency to work under pressure. Team player. Multi-tasking ability. An interest in working with students. Have a proactive working attitude, punctual at work and result orientated. Good time management skills. Additional Requirement for Chief Invigilator At least 3 years of experience as an invigilator for international exam boards. Knowledge of IB and GCSE exam regulations is preferred. Strong organisational and leadership skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to remain calm under pressure. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
