The following is an indication of the type and level of the main priorities expected of this role as directed by your line manager and is not intended to be a comprehensive list of duties or tasks:
1. To be fully familiar with Awarding Organisations and College regulations for the conduct of examinations under supervision.
2. Arrive at the appropriate site and collect examination packs from the Examinations Office at an agreed time before the examination.
3. Check that the contents of the examination pack correspond with the examination requirements.
4. Ensure the security of question papers and student data before, during and after the examinations.
5. Check that the examination room is set out in accordance with College and Awarding Organisation regulations.
6. Brief students on examination regulations at the start of examinations.
7. To invigilate for the duration of the examination, maintaining examination conditions and staying vigilant throughout.
8. To ensure examinations start and complete on time, taking account of students with access arrangements.
9. Accurate completion of seating plans, registers and other paperwork and to check completed scripts carefully against the register.
10. Escort students on toilet breaks ensuring no unauthorised material is consulted and that exam regulations are observed at all times.
11. Return scripts, unused stationery and other items to the Examinations Office.
12. If necessary to act as a scribe or reader for students with examination access arrangements.
13. Report all incidents including occurrences of malpractice to the Examinations Office.
14. Undertake regular Invigilation specialist training and support training delivery to other centre staff.
15. To undertake any other duties, which may reasonably be expected to fall within the grading of the post.
