Description
Description Control Room/Dispatch Operator is a 24-hour operation. There are two 12 hour rotating shifts, night shift is part of the job. This position primarily monitors operations from the control room, prepares reports, dispatches employees and vendors, and occasionally goes to facilities to troubleshoot equipment. The Operator is responsible for safe and efficient operations of our natural gas field in partnership with the other employees. This is an entry-level position which will receive training to perform troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and equipment startup. Responsibilities Monitor SCADA systems and security cameras Answer phones, dispatch water and oil hauls Perform rounds in compressor stations and fill out daily logs Assign permits to work Document and report variances in gas marketing Determine priority of alarms and dispatch mechanics, lease operators, Pipeline or E&I techs for repairs. Work closely with gas marketing and coordinate moving gas with downstream sales Responsible for stopping and starting compressors, troubleshooting separators, gauging tanks, monitoring SWD systems, cleaning and selling oil. Respond to satellite facilities for short term issues. Utilize tractors and fork-lifts for moving equipment and chemicals within facilities. Requirements Competent with Microsoft Excel and Outlook Express. Oilfield experience is a plus but not required Must be able to perform simple daily tasks with hand tools. Must have valid driver’s license. A steady work history and strong work-ethic Goal driven/forward thinking Ability to learn and retain task knowledge Physical Demands and Exposures Prolonged sitting, standing, walking Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Ability to individually lift: Maximum 100 lbs. Potential exposure to noise levels requiring the use of hearing protection Some work may be performed in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme cold and heat, near moving mechanical parts; exposure to high wind, ice, snow, wet and/or humid conditions, vibration, and dust is expected.
