DESCRIPTION We’re the Screen Time team, and we exist to facilitate digital wellbeing whether you’re a parent caring for your child, a teen looking to establish healthy habits, or an adult trying to be more intentional about your boundaries. We’re looking for a Staff Engineer to help lead our team as it builds and ships the next generation of digital wellbeing features at Apple. At Apple, we’ve created the most compelling personal computing devices in human history. We want these devices to promote the overall wellbeing of our customers — especially children — by facilitating healthy experiences on their devices. Our challenge is to deliver an experience that is simple to use and understand even as our system’s features get more advanced. As an engineer on the Screen Time team, your responsibilities will include: - Adhering to our high standards for code quality, unit testing, and engineering processes - Taking on technical challenges with high-quality output The implications of succeeding in this role are huge — together, we have the agency to shape healthy habits for billions of people now and into the future. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Track record of success — you have 2+ years of SwiftUI/Swift or UIKit/AppKit/Objective-C software engineering (or equivalent academic) experience with impact to show for it Technical excellence – you write clear, maintainable, performant, unit-tested code that delivers a great user experience Critical thinking with influence — you systematically evaluate the tradeoffs associated with each potential solution, make an informed decision, and communicate well to influence others Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent skills and work experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Customer focus — you make high-quality, user-centric product decisions Teamwork-oriented — you work to make the team successful Drive for customer impact — you are deeply motivated to build the best essential user experiences for billions of users
