Job Title: IoT Data Analyst
Status: Exempt
Department: Engineering (e.g., Interior/Exterior, Rubber/Plastic, or Fuel Systems)
Reports To: Technical Engineering Manager or Senior Supervisor

SUMMARY

The IoT Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data generated by connected devices within an Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem. Using statistical and machine learning methods, this role identifies trends, patterns, and anomalies to provide actionable insights aimed at improving operational efficiency and supporting business decision-making. The analyst plays a key role in system optimization, with a focus on improving production line flow and process performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Proficient in time studies and process analysis.
  • Demonstrated project management and leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare technical documents and lead investigations into process inefficiencies.
  • Familiarity with IoT and MES software (e.g., I-Gear or similar platforms).
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and engineering concepts quickly.
  • Solid understanding of general manufacturing practices.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ISO/TS standards and quality systems.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong attendance and work ethic.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio, and Project.
  • Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Power BI, Python, or other statistical platforms.

MATHEMATICAL & REASONING ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of calculus, trigonometry, and advanced statistics.
  • Ability to apply statistical methods such as variance analysis, correlation techniques, and sampling theory.
  • Capable of analyzing complex data and solving technical problems using logic and reasoning.
