Description Our shop is a critical part of the truck stop operation. The Service Manager helps ensure drivers get back on the road quickly, employees have the tools and support they need, and the facility remains a place where people are proud to work. This role directly impacts customer experience, team morale, and the success of the location. What You'll Do: Lead From the Front Work alongside mechanics and shop staff to keep operations running smoothly Jump in to assist customers and team members whenever needed Set the tone for professionalism, teamwork, and customer service Build and Develop a Great Team Recruit, train, and develop mechanics, parts counter staff, and assistant managers Maintain a positive, team-focused culture Provide coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities for employees Support professional development, including certifications and training Deliver Exceptional Customer Service Ensure every customer receives prompt, friendly, and professional service Quickly resolve customer concerns or warranty issues Lead by example in how we communicate with drivers and customers Keep the Shop Safe and Organized Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient shop environment Enforce safety standards and PPE usage Conduct regular safety meetings and monitor work practices Manage the Business Maintain proper staffing levels Monitor inventory and shop supplies Review work orders and ensure accurate billing and authorization Support location promotions, programs, and company initiatives Maintain the Facility & Equipment Ensure the shop, equipment, and service vehicles remain in top working condition Conduct daily walkthroughs of the facility and grounds Address small issues early to prevent larger problems later Work alongside mechanics and shop staff to keep operations running smoothly Jump in to assist customers and team members whenever needed Set the tone for professionalism, teamwork, and customer service What We're Looking For We care more about work ethic, leadership, and willingness to get involved than titles. The ideal candidate is someone who: Likes to be on the shop floor, not stuck behind a desk Leads by example and isn’t afraid to jump in Enjoys coaching and developing others Communicates well with both customers and employees Takes pride in keeping a shop clean, safe, and efficient Is enthusiastic about the business and the team Shows reliability, professionalism, and accountability Requirements High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) Ability to communicate clearly with customers and team members Basic math and problem-solving skills Ability to read safety guidelines and operating procedures Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work on your feet for extended periods Must be somewhat mechanically inclined Must have a sense of urgency, be self-motivated, and friendly Experience in managing people with the ability to lead others to success! Experience conducting product inventories Excellent organizational skills Diesel Mechanic experience is a plus, but is not required Must have a valid driver's license and meet company insurance requirements Work Environment Stand for extended periods Move throughout the shop and facility Work closely with mechanics and customers Handle tools, parts, and shop equipment Competitive benefits package available to full-time employees after 90 days, including health, retirement, and other valuable benefits.
