Description

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A strong academic background, with a degree in Law or a STEM subject – a background in physics or engineering is particularly valued

  • A genuine interest in complex technical litigation and IP law
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, team-oriented attitude
Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

My client is now looking to recruit an Associate (NQ–2 years PQE) into its specialist patent litigation team. You will work closely with Senior Associates and partners on strategically significant cases, covering technologies such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, telecoms infrastructure and standard-essential patents. The role offers early responsibility, excellent training and long-term career growth in a team known for its technical excellence and high-profile client base.
A STEM degree (ideally in physics or engineering) will be highly advantageous, given the technical nature of the work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supporting senior lawyers on large-scale patent disputes in the High Court and Court of Appeal
  • Assisting with FRAND and SEP-related litigation, including licensing strategy and enforcement
  • Drafting pleadings, evidence and witness statements
  • Managing technical expert evidence and liaising with scientific or technical advisers
  • Coordinating multi-jurisdictional litigation strategies with overseas counsel
  • Conducting legal research and preparing briefings for internal and client use
  • Participating in client meetings, calls and case strategy discussions
