The IRFU are inviting applications for the role of IRFU Performance Department Administrator .
The successful candidate will provide high-quality administrative and logistical support to the IRFU Performance Department, specifically assisting the Performance Director, Head of Women’s Performance & Pathways, and the Head of Elite Player Development (Men’s).
The position is being offered on a full time, 2 year fixed term contract basis. The role is based at the IRFU High Performance Centre, Sport Ireland Campus, Dublin 15.

POST TITLE: Performance Department Administrator
ROLE SUMMARY: The Performance Department Administrator provides high-quality administrative and logistical support to the IRFU Performance Department, specifically assisting the Performance Director, Head of Women’s Performance & Pathways, and the Head of Elite Player Development (Men’s). This role ensures the efficient day-to-day functioning of key performance programs by managing operations, documentation, communications, and logistics, with a specific focus on reducing the administrative burden on strategic leaders within the Performance Department.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven administrative experience in a high-performance or fast-paced environment, ideally within sport.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple calendars, coordinate logistics, and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with high-performance planning cycles, including camps, competitions, and athlete support services.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in minute-taking, expense tracking, and document management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise professionally across departments and with external stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting senior leadership or strategic roles.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality, especially when handling sensitive performance data, contracts, and athlete information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with shared platforms such as OneDrive or SharePoint.
  • Experience in financial administration, including invoice processing, budget tracking, and purchase order management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and solution-focused mindset.

DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working within a sports performance or athlete development environment.
  • Understanding of governance and compliance in a sporting context.
  • Knowledge of IRFU structures, or experience working within a national governing body or similar organisation.
