This new post will support the Gastroenterology Consultants in providing timely and high-quality assessment of patients referred with iron deficiency anaemia (IDA). Deliver nurse led clinics, complete clinical assessment of patients and arrange endoscopic and radiological investigations as per protocol. In partnership with the gastroenterology Consultants the post holder will triage 2 week wait referrals into the most appropriate pathway to ensure effective use of services and maintain the associated cancer performance standards. To support patients throughout their Endoscopy pre-assessment pathway, working as part of the screening and pre-assessment team, with a high level of input into the management and care of patients prior to admission for specified procedures.
