Description
Action Industries is seeking skilled Ironworkers in various trades to join our team in the Gulf Coast region. As an Ironworker, you will be responsible for erecting. connecting steel and metal structures, rigging, and perform runner functions within crew and assist in the layout and measuring of materials for installation according to specifications and blueprints. The majority of positions are in a plant environment and all positions require plant experience, but some will be in different environments. Responsibilities: Erect and connect steel at and above grade elevations Practice proper rigging technique Use proper hand signals to flag cranes Assist other craft workers as needed Use hand tools and power tools Align bolt holes in steel member using drift pins or spud wrenches. Verifies vertical and horizontal alignment of members using plumb bob and level. Bolts align members to keep them in position until they can be permanently bolted or welded in place. Cut steel members to make alterations using oxyacetylene equipment and supplies. Loads, transports, unloads material, tools, equipment and supplies. May assist in lifting, positions and securing of materials and work pieces during installation. Follow safety regulations and procedures Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors Work independently and as part of a team Pay close attention to detail and accuracy Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment Will be exposed to adverse weather conditions (Heat, Cold, Rain, etc.) Requirements: Current Twic Card NCCER Certification with Rigging Preferred Will need to have knowledge of basic steel erection Performs other duties as required. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field General Requirements for All Trades: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as an Ironworker in a plant setting Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance work history and experience Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Excellent communication and organizational skills Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures Positive disposition, demonstrates passion, integrity and responsibility Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check Must have Basic Orientation Plus within 3 months of expiration, Twic Card, Valid ID/DL, and have social security card available upon hire.
