Role Overview Surbana Jurong is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified professionals for the position of Irrigation & Design Engineer for a proposed assignment in Uzbekistan. The role will support the planning, design, and technical review of irrigation and drainage infrastructure, ensuring compliance with project requirements and international best practices. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review designs for irrigation and drainage infrastructure projects. Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and modelling for irrigation systems. Develop technical reports, design calculations, drawings, and project documentation. Support the planning, design, and rehabilitation of irrigation canals and associated infrastructure. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and project stakeholders. Ensure compliance with project requirements, technical standards, and design criteria. Utilize engineering and modelling software to deliver high-quality technical solutions. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Water Resources Engineering, Hydro Technical Engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred). Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including 8 years in planning, design, construction, operation, and management of irrigation and drainage networks. Experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling and analysis. Successfully completed at least two similar irrigation canal design assignments. Experience on World Bank or other MDB-funded projects is preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience working in developing countries, preferably including Central Asia.
