Description Summary: The Irrigation Technician works in operations and is responsible for executing the irrigation schedule as determined by the Farm Manager. Daily, the Irrigation Technician monitors irrigation systems. The Irrigation Technician is responsible for starting and stopping pumps, checking, and repairing drip and sprinkler lines, and ensuring that all irrigation infrastructure is always in good operational condition. Responsibilities: Monitors condition of farm irrigation equipment daily. Repair and maintain pumps, filters, and drip/sprinkler systems. Manual labor such as hand weeding with shovel or weed eater, digging, backpack spray applications and rodent control. Basic sanitation of farm equipment and structures. During the frost season monitor temperatures and starting frost control measures. Report problems and anomalies to supervisor/manager immediately upon observation. Record work activities performed daily on a time card. Requirements Required Skills and Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
