POSITION SUMMARY

The Irrigation Technician is responsible for managing and maintaining all irrigation and fertigation systems across our outdoor cultivation areas. This role plays a critical part in ensuring cannabis plants receive consistent water and nutrients while adapting to weather conditions and field variability.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in farm irrigation, agricultural plumbing, or field-based fertigation systems.
  • Familiarity with irrigation components such as pumps, valves, timers, filters, and controllers.
  • Strong understanding of water management, soil saturation, and nutrient delivery.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, rain, wind) for extended periods.
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, digging, bending, and walking long distances.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Experience working in cannabis, hemp, or similar high-value crops is an asset.
  • Must be eligible to work in the cannabis industry (background check may be required).
Responsibilities
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain drip, sprinkler, and other irrigation systems across the farm.
  • Perform routine inspections to identify and repair leaks, clogs, and other system issues.
  • Adjust irrigation schedules based on weather conditions, soil moisture, and crop growth stages.
  • Safely mix and apply nutrient solutions as directed by the Cultivation Manager or Agronomist.
  • Monitor and log water usage, soil conditions, and irrigation efficiency.
  • Calibrate and maintain tools used for measuring pH, EC, and soil moisture.
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down irrigation infrastructure at the beginning and end of each growing season.
  • Troubleshoot irrigation equipment in the field, sometimes under challenging weather or terrain.
  • Coordinate with the cultivation team to respond to plant health issues related to irrigation or nutrition.
  • Follow all SOPs and comply with Health Canada regulations and on-site biosecurity practices.
