We are seeking a skilled and detail-focused Irrigation Technician to join our Fitzroy Macadamias team. In this hands-on and technical role, you’ll support the design, implementation, and maintenance of irrigation and automation systems to ensure the efficient delivery of water across a growing macadamia orchard.

REQUIREMENTS

To be successful for this position, you will have:

  • A current driver’s licence
  • Relevant vocational or tertiary qualifications in irrigation or related fields (CAD qualifications highly regarded)
  • Proven experience with irrigation systems, automation, surveying, and design
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Advanced computer literacy and experience using CAD software preferred
  • Team-oriented, ethical, and proactive with strong interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

As a valued member of the team and reporting to Irrigation Manager, you will:

  • Collaborate with development and operational teams on irrigation design, installation, and automation projects
  • Maintain irrigation infrastructure including pumps, filtration systems, motors, and delivery networks
  • Assist in the supervision, training, and development of irrigation staff and contractors
  • Conduct system reviews, ensure quality assurance, and maintain accurate records
  • Support the implementation of irrigation programs that enhance tree health, yield, and efficiency
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, and environmental outcomes
