IS MANAGER OF CLINICAL SYSTEMS Organization: Marshall Health Network (MHN) Reports To: IS Director of Enterprise Applications POSITION SUMMARY The Manager of Clinical Systems is responsible for the planning, implementation, support, and optimization of assigned clinical applications across Marshall Health Network’s multi-specialty and subspecialty outpatient practices and services. This position ensures that care teams and end-users have reliable, effective, and efficient information systems that align with clinical workflows, quality goals, fiscal management, and regulatory requirements. The Manager provides leadership and oversight for analysts and support staff, collaborates with operational leaders, and ensures systems meet the needs of patients, providers, and staff. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Oversee assigned clinical applications and application analysts, including specialty/subspecialty EHR modules as assigned by leadership. * Lead planning, configuration, testing, implementation, and ongoing optimization of assigned systems and projects. * Supervise and mentor a team of Clinical Analysts and support staff responsible for clinical applications. * Partner with outpatient medical directors, nursing leadership, and operational managers to assess needs and align technology solutions with care delivery goals. * Collaborate with the Director of Enterprise Applications to ensure alignment with enterprise standards, governance processes, and integration strategies. * Establish and monitor workflows, data integrity, and system performance specific to assigned areas. * Develop and oversee application training, support, and communication plans for end users. * Ensure compliance with HIPAA, privacy, and security standards across supported systems. * Maintain vendor relationships and manage service issues related to clinical applications. * Support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance user experience, and improve patient safety in the ambulatory setting. * Participate in budgeting, project planning, and performance reporting for assigned systems. * Serve as a liaison between end-users and enterprise IT to ensure timely issue resolution and system enhancements. * Manage change control and change governance with IT and operational partners for assigned areas. * Research new technologies, applications, and system enhancements to meet customer needs. * Facilitate and manage assigned teams’ timely response, communication, deadline setting, and completion of issues, requests, and projects using service management toolsets. * Assist the Director in planning and managing the IT operational budget. * Facilitate and participate in rounding on operational customers with analysts to understand clinical workflows, challenges, and opportunities for IT improvements. * Perform other related duties as assigned. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP * Reports to: Director of Enterprise Applications * Supervises: Clinical analysts and support staff Qualifications EDUCATION * Bachelor’s Degree required. EXPERIENCE * Minimum 3–5 years of healthcare IT experience with emphasis on a broad collection of clinical systems. * Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred. * Hands-on experience with EHR systems (Oracle Health/Cerner strongly preferred). * Demonstrated knowledge of clinical care workflows across multiple care areas and specialties. PREFERRED SKILLS * Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work across clinical, operational, and IT teams. * Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. * Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements, HIPAA, and security standards. * Proven ability to analyze complex problems, develop solutions, and drive results in collaboration with stakeholders. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS * Ability to push/pull light objects under 20 pounds. * Perform simple manipulative skills such as writing, collating, and grasping objects. * Perform tasks requiring eye-hand coordination, such as computer and keyboard use. * Perform gross motor tasks such as reaching, turning, and moving about. * Maintain mobility between work areas. * Ability to hear normal sounds with some background noise. * Perform moderately difficult manipulative skills. * Ability to see objects closely.
