POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an Information Services Technician to join our telecom company. This role is ideal for a tech-savvy individual with a passion for troubleshooting and providing excellent support to end-users. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Information Services (IS) Department and supporting our employees with their technical needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum:

  • High school diploma or equivalent such as the GED
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other Microsoft tools.
  • Knowledge of Excel formulas and Visual Basic (VB) macros.
  • Basic understanding of Information Services (IS) systems, including Windows operating systems, networking concepts, hardware troubleshooting, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft Exchange.

    • Applicants should at least be able to navigate these systems to create and disable users and manage email accounts.
  • Demonstrated learning agility
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently as needed.

Preferred:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Previous desktop support experience
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+)

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues for internal users.
  • Manage and resolve help desk tickets in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical assistance for telecommunication systems, including VoIP, modems, and video conferencing equipment.
  • Install and configure hardware, software, and peripherals as needed.
  • Document all contacts, actions, responses, technical processes and resolutions for future reference.
  • Maintain strong communication with team members and end-users to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Maintain working knowledge of products and/or services
  • Prepare reports and correspondence as needed
  • Assist IS Manager with projects, implementations, and updates as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
