Iskam Pantry Assistant  Position Type: Limited Duration Part Time  Salary: $18.00 - $18.73 per hour    This position is eligible for a 5% bilingual differential, if the successful candidate meets the Food Share standard on an oral proficiency exam.   ** For immediate consideration, please apply as soon as possible!  We anticipate this position to start on May 11th and end on June 11th.  Summary of Role: The ISKAM Pantry Assistant supports operations of the ISKAM Food Bank in Grand Ronde, Oregon. This position maintains a clean and organized warehouse, receives and stores product, stocks pantry shelves, and monitor’s inventory.  You Are…  * An Effective Collaborator. You have worked with diverse groups and on dispersed teams, and you can operate in complex situations. You are happy to challenge someone's assumptions and to have your assumptions challenged in return.  * Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to adjust to constantly changing priorities.  Your responsibilities as the Iskam Pantry Assistant will include:  * Clean and disinfect all warehouse, waiting room and office spaces daily.  * Remove warehouse debris and properly dispose of garbage and recyclables. Sweep and dust at the end of each day.  * Unload food deliveries from the Food Share and food donors. Unstack pallets and sort food in the warehouse in proper places.  * Sort out produce or other perishables that are not fit to eat and assist in disposal of product.  * Sort mixed food product into appropriate categories.  * Move product from warehouse to food pantry shopping area as needed, including dry, cooler, and frozen product.  * Manage FIFO rotation of product.  * Communicate inventory levels with lead warehouse volunteer and Pantry Coordinator.  * Manage and sort dunnage, clean totes and bins. Maintain a clean side yard.  * May assist with food pantry distribution to the public as needed. Could include managing front desk, assisting clients shopping through the pantry, or building food boxes.  **Other duties as assigned  About Marion Polk Food Share  We are the regional food bank bringing people together to end hunger and its root causes in Marion and Polk Counties. Forklift skills desired but not required.  * Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform work while seating or standing for a prolonged period of time.  * Able to lift repetitively up to 50 pounds.  * Ability to push/pull loads up to 1500 pounds on carts and pallet jacks.  * Passion for helping the community and addressing hunger.  * Must pass pre-employment drug screen (excluding THC) and full background check, including eligibility to work with vulnerable populations.  * Must pass driving record check and be insurable through Marion-Polk Food Share’s vehicle insurance policy.   The most competitive / strongest candidates will possess a combination of the following background, skills, experience, and knowledge. We are most interested in finding the best candidate for the job.
