This role provides leadership, organization, and direction for multiple crews and technicians while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to customer specifications. The ISP Manager works closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Warehouse teams, and customers to maintain high-quality standards, deliver on timelines, and drive team development. Core Responsibilities Lead and manage all ISP crews, including fiber splicers, installation specialists, and support staff. Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily and weekly crew assignments based on project priorities. Review project scopes, drawings, and documentation to ensure accurate and efficient completion. Monitor production, quality, and safety performance across all ISP job sites. Conduct field visits and job audits to verify proper work practices and standards. Collaborate with Project Managers to align manpower, materials, and timelines. Support pre-construction meetings and post-job closeouts with accurate documentation. Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and Universal’s internal safety policies. Train and mentor splicers and installation specialists to meet performance and quality expectations. Support the development of new hire and ongoing training programs. Communicate job progress, issues, or delays clearly to leadership and internal stakeholders. Work directly with Warehouse and Fleet departments to ensure materials, equipment, and vehicles are available and maintained. Participate in customer meetings and represent the ISP team in a professional manner. Perform other related duties as assigned. Physical Demands Ability to visit field sites, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces when required. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform light physical labor when assisting crews. Work may require standing, walking, bending, or lifting for extended periods. Work Environment Combination of office, field, and customer environments. Exposure to outdoor elements when visiting job sites. Fast-paced operations with changing priorities and deadlines. Must be flexible to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed. Schedule Full-time, exempt position. Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, with flexibility for extended hours or weekends as projects require. Requirements 5+ years of experience in telecommunications construction, including fiber splicing or ISP installations. 2+ years of management or supervisory experience leading field crews. Strong understanding of fiber optics, in-building cabling, splicing, and installation processes. Proficient in reading and interpreting telecom construction plans, job packets, and as-built documentation. Familiarity with testing equipment (OTDR, power meters, light sources, etc.). Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams) and project tracking software. Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and meet production goals. Strong communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with internal teams and external partners. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Preferred Experience Prior experience managing multiple crews across varying project scopes. Experience coordinating directly with large telecom customers or contractors. Knowledge of both aerial and underground fiber systems. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.
