Our IT Team plays a vital role in delivering secure, reliable, and innovative technology services that support the operations of the Australian Human Rights Commission. Their responsibilities include managing the Commission’s ICT infrastructure both cloud-based and on-premises ensuring uninterrupted access to critical applications, network services, and data platforms. The team also oversees information and records management systems.
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior IT Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will support the ongoing operation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Commission’s information and records management framework and systems. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with legislative obligations and best practice standards for information management, with a strong emphasis on SharePoint and RecordPoint usage contributing to a positive records management culture through training, support, and system enhancements.
This full-time ongoing / non ongoing position offers a competitive salary range of $115,892 - $129,580per annum plus 15.4% superannuation.

Responsibilities
  • Support the effective operation of the Commission’s records and document management systems, primarily SharePoint and RecordPoint.
  • Implement and maintain information management policies and procedures in line with Australian Government requirements and National Archives of Australia standards.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of Commission’s physical and digital records form creation and use through to storage and disposal and maintain Commission’s Information Asset Register.
  • Lead agency-wide adoption of digital recordkeeping practices, including the rollout of digital mailroom services.
  • Identify and deliver system improvements in collaboration with internal technical teams.
  • Provide frontline support for records management requests submitted through the service desk, ensuring prompt and accurate resolution.
  • Develop and deliver training and guidance materials to support best practice recordkeeping.
  • Provide staff training to use Commission’s Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS) effectively.
  • Support maintaining an up-to-date Knowledge Hub to ensure staff have access to the most current corporate documents and resources.
  • Ensure compliance with information management frameworks, including record retention and disposal requirements.
  • Coordinate input for mandatory reporting (e.g. Harradine Report, National Archives of Australia Annual Check-up Surveys, PSPF audits).
  • Serve as the key liaison with the National Archives, developing and maintaining a long-term partnership that supports Commission’s information governance framework.
