Afrirent Holdings, a group of companies operating in the Mobility and Hospitality Sectors, is looking for an IT Administrator to provide high-quality technical IT support to all Afrirent employees and configure and maintain Afrirent’s computer networks and IT infrastructure.

FORMAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Information Technology / Computer Science
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator Certification (Azure 104)
  • A+ Certification
  • N+ Certification

IDEAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • CompTIA A+ (Basic hardware / software troubleshooting) will be advantageous
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (For Windows-based environments) will be advantageous
  • Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation Certification (IT service management best practices) will be advantageous)
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (For managing Microsoft environments) will be advantageous)
  • VMware Certified Technical Associate (VCTA) (If dealing with virtualization) will be advantageous

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years’ experience in an IT support
  • 3 years’ IT administration experience
Responsibilities
  • Installs, maintains, upgrades, and continuously improves Afrirent’s operating environment
  • Monitors and maintains the ongoing reliability, performance, and support of the server infrastructure
  • Monitors the operating environments, proactively identifies and responds to incidents and problems
  • Deploys the release of new or upgraded technologies, including the design, installation, configuration, maintenance and performance testing of operating systems and networks
  • Monitors the security of systems and inter-application information transfers proactively via daily reports
  • Ensures the maximum uptime of Afrirent’ network services and servers both onsite and cloud services
  • Provides quality technical support regarding all software and hardware issues experienced by employees
  • Performs troubleshooting using different advanced diagnostic techniques
  • Diagnoses and resolves complex technical hardware and / or software related issues, independently, based on the tickets logged, and within the shortest possible time
  • Escalates unresolved issues to the next level of support as per internal service level agreements and standard operating procedures
  • Follows up with employees to ensure that problems have not recurred
  • Demonstrates to users the best ways to use preferred applications, software or hardware
  • Provides guidance regarding new systems and functionalities to relevant users
  • Compiles reports on progress made on action items and / or outstanding issues
  • Prepares and submits performance reports including networks, servers, applications, availability and backups
  • Maintains accurate records of all IT-related requests and documents
