At MFB, we’re seeking a visionary IT Architect Director to shape our Salesforce ecosystem and lead key system integrations. You’ll go beyond platform management—designing smart, reliable solutions that support our staff, volunteers, and mission-driven operations.
PAY: $90,000 – 120,000 per year

SUMMARY & MISSION STATEMENT:

Midwest Food Bank (MFB) is a $526M non-profit organization with 10 divisions in the U.S. and 2 operations internationally. MFB operates with $87M in assets and an annual organizational operating budget of $15M to distribute over $526M in food and disaster relief boxes to 2,400 agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or arelated field.
  • Excellent understanding of data modeling, object relationships, integration design and system scalability; coding knowledge; experience managing system updates/enhancements.
  • 5-years relevant work experience, 10-years desired.
  • Salesforce certifications, such as Certified Application Architect, Business Analyst, Nonprofit Success Pack or are preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, oversee program implementation, engage teammates and deliver results.
  • Proven initiative and problem-solving skills; quick learner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in team-oriented work environment.
  • Willingness to participate in training related to MFB policies, professional development, and program management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer in an office setting; periods of standing and movement in a warehouse and truck dock setting.
  • Minimal travel in-state; out-of-state travel as needed; infrequent evening and weekend obligations.
  • May include exposure to noisy conditions, working conditions with dust, fumes, and weather.

Responsibilities

JOB ROLE PURPOSE & SUMMARY:

The IT Architect Director is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, coordination, development, and implementation of Salesforce architecture and various system integrations. This role includes establishing best practices, onboarding and training of Salesforce for staff and volunteers as well as owning the data integrity of Salesforce.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and maintain scalable Salesforce architecture, data modeling and integrations between systems supporting Midwest Food Bank’s operations including donor management, volunteer coordination, accounting processes and other key systems.
  • Maintain vendor relationship with Salesforce representative.
  • Build, customize, and maintain workflows, reports, and dashboards in Salesforce to meet departmental needs.
  • Provide onboarding and training for staff and volunteers for Salesforce; create training and best practices materials.
  • Ownership of data; establish and own best practices and maintenance plans for data cleanliness and consistency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with system integrations; support & manage data migration and Salesforce updates affecting the organization and end users.
  • Facilitate recurring meetings with stakeholders to provide updates on Salesforce health, data and report maintenance, and utilization.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices for integration development and Salesforce customizations.
  • Collaborate with IT Director, leadership and staff to identify opportunities for system innovation, provide recommendations and assist in implementation of system changes.
