Description

The District safeguards South Florida’s water resources by pairing science-based engineering with sound fiscal stewardship, and its SAP S/4HANA platform underpins every purchase, inventory movement, construction project and audit. With the retirement of a thirty five-year institutional expert, the District is recruiting a senior functional lead who can sustain that momentum—and keep the pumps running and restoration occurring.
As the SAP Section’s principal subject-matter expert for SAP Materials Management (MM) and its integration points—spanning material management, inventory and warehouse management, Plant Maintenance supply activities, finance impacts, and procurement processes—you will oversee day-to-day configuration, continuous improvement, and break-fix support for all MM processes, related workflows, mobile solutions, and S/4HANA reporting. In addition, you will guide and participate in broader supply-chain initiatives, cross-functional projects, and system upgrades, ensuring that new solutions align with industry best practices and strengthen the District’s overall SAP landscape. Your duties will include managing the ServiceNow ticket queue with Agile methods, conducting root-cause analysis and closing issues with a strong customer-service focus; acting as the liaison between business owners, BASIS and ABAP development, Infrastructure, Finance and Audit teams; translating business requirements into efficient, standards-based SAP solutions; leading functional design, unit and user acceptance testing and cut-over planning such as Fiori roll-outs and budget rollover loads; annual work-plan or budget data loads; and mentoring analysts, delivering user training, publishing knowledge articles and championing continuous-improvement practices across the District.
The role’s essential responsibilities span functional support and enhancement of MM, invoice workflow and scanner integrations; leadership of functional work-streams for S/4HANA upgrades, mobile replacements, new Fiori analytics; authorship of functional specifications, execution of robust testing and coordination of transports under a controlled release process that satisfies District audits.
The District values customer-service excellence, teamwork, clear technical communication, emergency-management readiness and continuous professional growth. The incumbent must occasionally work after hours or on weekends for go-lives, disaster-recovery drills, fiscal rollovers and hurricane incident responses.
