JOB DESCRIPTION:

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in IT development, specifically in the design, development, and maintenance of web applications. You will be responsible for working across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) and providing ongoing operational support.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT development with strong exposure to the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Proficiency in designing, developing, and maintaining web applications using Microsoft .NET or Java technologies.
• Solid experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and web services integration (SOAP, REST).
• At least 5 years of experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server), database schema design, and writing optimized SQL queries.
• Proven ability to analyze, design, and implement complex technical solutions.
• Experience with source code management tools such as GitLab, TFS, CVS, SVN.
• Strong command of English and excellent communication skills to interact effectively with teams, end-users, and vendors.
• Experience in project management, including issue tracking, version control, and release management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in the digital preservation and archival domain.
• Experience working with Excel objects and building interfaces to other applications on the .NET platform.
• Experience implementing security best practices in application development.
• Working experience in system design and producing clear, concise, and readable documentation (e.g., data models, functional specifications, design specifications).

OTHER ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS (PREFERRED):

• Ability to work effectively with users to gather requirements, test solutions, and train end-users.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve issues with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Microsoft .NET (.NET Framework/.NET Core) or Java, and relevant technologies (e.g. ASP.NET, C#, HTML/DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX).
• Lead and support the implementation of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions, including web services development and integration with SOAP and REST-based services.
• Design relational database schemas and write optimized SQL queries and stored procedures using MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or similar databases.
• Provide operational support including incident management, defect tracking, source code version control, release management, and deployment to production.
• Participate in system analysis and design, application development, testing, and documentation.
• Collaborate with users and project teams to gather requirements, communicate proposed solutions, and conduct user acceptance testing.
• Develop and maintain thorough documentation for system design, data models, functional specifications, design specifications, and other relevant materials.
• Apply good security practices in application development and support.
• Provide project management support, including maintaining issue logs, change control records, and coordinating with users.
