SUMMARY

Oversee the applications development team while also developing code and support of internal and customer-facing custom applications. Prioritize and assign work, solve complex business and technical problems, and drives innovation within the team and application portfolio. Hours are M-F 8:00am-5:00pm. Located in East Syracuse, NY. This is not a work from home or hybrid position. In-office only.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and five to ten years of technical and leadership experience in Software Development.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, Visual Basic, C#, .NET, Python, Node.js, Java, JavaScript, JQuery, JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) and/or other equivalent JavaScript frameworks
• Web development languages and frameworks (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, Angular, and REACT)
• Web services and APIs (REST, SOAP)
• CI/CD experience is a plus.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Extensive knowledge of operations and production management.
• Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set production goals.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Strong understanding of mathematical concepts related to probability and statistics.
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

  Total compensation for this role is market competitive. The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated between $100,000 and $120,000. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Effectively hire, develop and train employees and coach for optimal performance.
• Conduct team meetings and 1:1s with direct reports to provide regular feedback and ensure career growth and progression by implementing training and development plans.
• Take appropriate corrective to promote optimal employee performance and low staff turnover.
• Work with key departments to influence product development assisting or improving products.
• Ensure compliance with United Radio’s policies and procedures, and quality systems.
• Guide and mentor a team of software developers in creating applications based on business needs.

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work within the team and stakeholders, build relationships, and identify areas for improvement.
• Review code to ensure top-quality work that meets United Radio standards.
• Manage source code and vulnerability remediation for both IT and business unit developers.
• Strong understanding of and practical use of application and web security concepts, including MFA, OWASP Top 10, and application code scanning.
• Lead the software development team in all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC), including planning, design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Maintain source control using GIT
• Oversee the development and maintenance of technical documentation.
• Collaborate across departments to manage web team priorities and assignments.
• Ensure application performance and reliability with thorough testing and monitoring.
• Maintain and support existing application portfolio, driving standardization and reuse, and retiring obsolete applications.
• Provide technical leadership and input on the overall design and scalability of solutions.
• Establish software development standards and processes along with best practices for delivery of scalable and high-quality software.
