DP World is growing! We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Apprentice who will be based between our sites in Coventry and Hinckley. In this role you will assist the IT team in a range of activities including, but not limited to, IT Support and Service Desk, Hardware and Software Management, Users and Systems Administration, Cybersecurity and Compliance, Documentation and Asset Management, Projects and Development.
You will gain hands on experience whilst you conduct distance learning for a Level 3 IT qualification meaning this role would be an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in IT, with full training, mentoring, and progression opportunities available.

YOUR KEY SKILLS:

  • Grades 5 or above in Maths and English
  • Current driving licence (Highly desirable)
  • A strong interest in IT, technology, and digital systems.
  • Basic knowledge of hardware, operating systems, and networking (desirable)
  • Ability to follow instructions and apply logical thinking.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational ability.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levelsInterested in emerging technologies

Responsibilities
  • Provide support to act as the first point of contact for staff IT queries (via phone, email, and ticketing system).
  • Support in diagnosis and resolution of basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Escalate more complex problems to senior IT colleagues where appropriate.
  • Provide excellent customer service to ensure minimal disruption to business operations
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of PCs, laptops, mobile devices, and printers.
  • Support software rollouts, updates, and upgrades.
  • Assist in performing routine checks on systems to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Create and manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions in line with company policies.
  • Assist with the administration of shared drives, email accounts, and cloud-based services.
  • Support monitoring of network and server performance.
  • Ensure devices and accounts comply with company IT and data protection policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of IT support requests and resolutions.
  • Update and maintain an IT asset register (hardware and software inventory).
  • Document IT processes and procedures for knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and new technology rollouts.
  • Work alongside senior IT staff to gain exposure to advanced systems and enterprise-level technologies.Undertake self-directed learning and apply new knowledge to real-world scenarios
