BASIC DESCRIPTION:

This hybrid position combines responsibilities of an IT Manager and IT Technician. The role involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues for employees, as well as fulfilling requests for hardware, software, and peripherals. In addition to hands-on support, the position requires strategic planning and oversight of the organization’s IT infrastructure to ensure continuous availability, security, and efficiency. The IT environment spans multiple office locations, requiring coordination across teams and systems.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 5+ years of experience in the information technology field.
  • Experience with multiple divisions/regions and numerous remote users.
  • Comfortable with shoulder taps, plugging in equipment, installing updates, meeting foreman at jobsites, visits to regional offices
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, VPNs, and basic networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Solid working knowledge of current security protocols and threats.
  • Monitor and oversee the department’s response to any system outage and ensure that any/all escalated issues are resolved quickly and efficiently with relevant corrections to process, or procedures are made.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience preferred

  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
  • Knowledge of network administration principles is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
  • Customer service orientation to assist staff effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+) are a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Install and update desktops, laptops, PDAs, peripherals, networks, and related software
  • Test, image, and clean PCs, laptops, and other related hardware
  • Track IT equipment and peripherals
  • Ensure and enforce appropriate and stringent cyber security through IT applications utilized by the company.
  • Provides training to employees regarding IT policies, procedures, and new or updated software and hardware.
  • POC for 3rd party managed service provider.
  • Lead IT projects such as system upgrades.

  • Support and administer core tools, systems and applications used across multiple departments.
  • Onboard new employees efficiently and provide quick and effective desktop/mobile support.
  • Setup IT infrastructure for new remote offices and ensure IT infrastructure scales and supports growth in existing offices.
  • Researching and recommending new products.
  • Assuming responsibility for training programs for end users.
  • Assuming responsibility for network and systems performance and security features.
  • Oversee and develop a maintenance / update schedule for hardware and software programs/ applications ensuring that all necessary updates are completed.
