In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end management of the backup and restore capability across a complex, hybrid IT landscape. This includes private and public cloud platforms, on-premise infrastructure, and outsourced services in a multi-regional environment.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring data protection, regulatory compliance, and business continuity through the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of our backup and restore strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business Informatics, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience in IT backup and restore technologies including tools such as Commvault, AWS Backup, and solutions for containers, middleware, and databases.
  • In-depth understanding of immutable backup strategies and their operational implementation.
  • Strong background in IT compliance, process management, and service governance.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and present complex information to both technical and executive audiences.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all matters related to backup and restore across internal teams and external service providers.
  • Define, maintain, and enforce IT controls, standards, and processes within the organization’s broader IT governance framework.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements through regular monitoring and reporting.
  • Lead and contribute to key initiatives, including the ongoing implementation of an Immutable Backup solution.
  • Coordinate and conduct infrastructure and application restore tests.
  • Monitor performance, capacity, and cost-effectiveness of the backup environment and initiate improvements where necessary.
  • Provide regular reporting to management and relevant risk and governance committees, supported by performance indicators (KPIs/KRIs).
  • Collaborate with product owners, infrastructure specialists, and vendors across multiple geographies (Netherlands, UK, India, US).
