Howmet Aerospace is currently in search of an IT Business Architect – Supply Chain , to join our Global Information Services (GIS) Resource Unit at the Howmet Corporate Center in Pittsburgh, PA. The position will report into the Senior Director, Corporate Applications and be part of the Architect team that strives to provide value-add business-driven solutions, through the leverage of right technologies. This role will be capable of building strong relationships across the business, as well as serving as an advocate for technology with plant leadership.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or eight (8) years of additional experience in Information Technology accepted in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of business or IT experience with a direct responsibility for strategy formulation, business analytics, or program management
  • Information Technology experience within a manufacturing or industrial manufacturing environment
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience as an IT architect delivering solutions to diverse and complex business opportunities
  • Ability to leverage existing, new, and emerging technologies to apply them to new business designs and business models to achieve targeted business outcomes
  • Experience with organization change management
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts and theories for a variety of projects
  • Knowledge of supply chain operations.
  • Strong business acumen of business order management systems and processes, such as EBS Oracle.
  • Ability to communicate, influence and persuade — both business and IT leaders, stakeholders, and peers.
Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Enterprise Strategy Development, including opportunity identification, technology and business cases, and business innovation focused on increasing value by growing revenue, optimizing cost, and mitigating risk
  • Interviews and analyze business processes to move the operations and logistics organization toward realizing its strategic goals and targeted business outcomes, while considering IT investment priorities
  • Define strategic plan and technology and project roadmaps for leveraging integrated business architecture as part of the organization’s overall enterprise architecture
  • Creates actionable deliverables that demonstrate how to move the business toward realizing its strategic goals and targeted business outcomes by combining knowledge of business capabilities, value streams, and business processes
  • Uses the organization’s existing business and operating model as the starting point for innovation, for example, by using new technologies to enable a building block
  • Researches and provides consultation on emerging technology trends and disruptions and competitors’ practices relevant to assigned business process/functions representatives
  • Collaborates with and facilitates Howmet stakeholders involved in digital strategy and digital innovation to drive adoption of business process changes and new or existing technologies
  • Consults with subject matter experts to develop technical solutions. Advises on options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impact on other business processes and system priorities
  • Collaborates with the IT PMO on benefits, issues, risks of initiatives and reporting project status.
  • Analyze and anticipate project and product needs and determine resources needed to meet objectives and solve problems
  • Capture business needs and collaborate with other IT thought leaders on solutions
  • Critical thinker – challenging legacy assumptions, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to see the big picture
