Description

We are looking for a highly skilled IT Business Systems Consultant with practical expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (365BC) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing hands-on technical support, troubleshooting, and optimizing our internal and external applications throughout the business; including our 365BC system; to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
This role involves close collaboration with various departments to understand their requirements and IT challenges, providing expert advice on optimizing their systems to enhance efficiency and scalability.
This role provides direct input into the governance cycle that supports the achievement of key goals, planning and execution of various business applications, and delivery of bottom-line business value.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Finance.
  • Proven hands-on experience in supporting and optimizing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Strong understanding of finance subsystems such as General Ledger (G/L), Accounts
  • Development experience across SQL and AL.
  • Experience in working on multi-national projects and systems.
  • Extensive experience with multiple ends to end implementations, experience with migrations, upgrades and greenfield projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – flexibility is key.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of data management and security best practices.
  • Experience within a fast-paced environment, traversing both high to low level business activities.
  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts, excellence in articulating ideas and presenting them simply to a non-technical audience, bridging the gap between technological and financial domains effectively.
Responsibilities

The Hoist IT Business Systems Consultant will be accountable for:

  • Provide first-line technical support for finance team applications, diagnosing and resolving technical issues within SLAs.
  • Analyse and evaluate current business systems and processes, configuring them to meet business unit needs.
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions to enhance system performance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop system specifications.
  • Design and implement system upgrades, configurations, and integrations.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users.
  • Create in-depth documentation, use ITSM and project delivery tools to evidence change.
  • Ensure data integrity and security across all business systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of DORA and GDPR regulations and impact on critical systems.
  • Provide support for regular regulatory report creation and analysis.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
