Responsibilities

YOUR TEAM AND ROLE

Our leading global insurance client is seeking an experienced IT Category Manager specialising in Applications t on a 12-week contract based in London. This role offers the chance to work within a collaborative and inclusive team, supporting both business services and multiple legal entities across the organisation.
You will play a pivotal part in shaping procurement strategies, driving cost savings, and building commercial frameworks that benefit the wider group.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Working with stakeholders to effectively manage IT spend across the company and other Legal Entities, which will involve helping customers to define requirements, researching the supply market, running market exercises to select suppliers, negotiating commercial terms and putting appropriate contracts in place.
  • Leading Procurement’s involvement in a complex application decommissioning programme. You will be the commercial subject matter expert working closely with IT product owners to form a strategy to exit a number of complex, interrelated licenses and supporting services
  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies for your category area, focusing on cost optimisation, supplier management, and risk mitigation.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, communicating complex procurement concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal policies, maintaining high standards of integrity and accountability.
  • Fostering strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and ensuring reliable supply chains.
