ABOUT THE ROLE

The IT Computer Specialist will play a vital role in maintaining, optimizing, and securing our IT infrastructure. This person will oversee daily technical operations, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and contribute to the implementation of new technology solutions. Success in this role requires a proactive, detail-oriented mindset and a strong collaborative spirit.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Technical Support: Provide comprehensive technical assistance to internal staff, responding to requests via phone, email, and in-person. Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • System Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance on workstations, servers, and network equipment. Install updates and patches to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure.
  • Network Administration: Monitor the organization’s computer networks for performance, security, and reliability. Troubleshoot connectivity issues and manage network resources, including printers, routers, and switches.
  • Security Management: Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures. Assist in the development of disaster recovery and backup procedures. Conduct regular system audits to detect and mitigate potential threats.
  • User Training: Conduct training sessions for employees on newly implemented software or hardware. Create user-friendly documentation and guidelines for common issues and best practices.
  • Hardware & Software Deployment: Set up new computers, mobile devices, and software applications. Coordinate with vendors for procurement and support as needed.
  • Project Collaboration: Work closely with other professionals and department heads to plan and execute technology projects. Participate in research and evaluation of emerging technologies.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of configuration, maintenance, and repairs. Keep inventory of IT assets and track software licenses.
  • Customer Service: Demonstrate professionalism and patience when interacting with end-users. Address concerns proactively and ensure a positive technology experience for all staff.
