Our Information Technology, Digital & Data faculty is looking for a new Level 3 IT apprentice. Are you the go-to person that your friends and family use to fix their technology? Ensuring the technical setup behind our teaching is always reliable, secure, and ready to go by keeping our IT labs running smoothly, supporting staff, students, and equipment.
Key role objectives-
To assist the Head of Faculty, IT Lab Supervisor & College IT Support Team in ensuring the effective technical operation and maintenance of the College’s BIT Faculty and IT lab.

Main Tasks-

  • To be a member of the Business and IT team and to contribute to its work.
  • To maintain the proper operation of IT hardware and software in the IT labs on a day-to-day basis working under the direction of the IT Lab Supervisor.
  • To facilitate sessions in the IT labs with lecturers to include preparing resources, establishing rotas, providing demonstration for students, witnessing student assessed activities and providing supervision in the IT labs.
  • To contribute to the development of specialist Business and IT services to lecturers and learners.
  • To set up IT hardware and software for college open events.
  • To help the college IT Support Team, as required, to conduct routine maintenance operations on hardware and software components comprising the Business and IT facilities.
  • To ensure the safety and security of IT resources.
  • To act at all times with due regard for the health and safety of staff, students and visitors.
  • To attend department, team and other meetings as directed by the Head of Faculty.
  • To undertake any duties directed by the Head of Faculty or Lab Supervisor.

Hours: 37.00 per week

If you’re successful, you’ll be required to complete thorough pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
