The IT Data Analyst will support enterprise data governance initiatives by ensuring data quality, integrity, and compliance with healthcare regulations. This role involves working closely with data stewards, business units, and IT teams to define data standards, perform data profiling, and provide actionable insights that improve the reliability of clinical, operational, and financial data across the organization.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s a plus).
  • 2–5 years of experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in healthcare or life sciences.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD, CPT, SNOMED).
  • Strong SQL skills for data profiling, validation, and reporting.
  • Experience with BI/analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks (DAMA-DMBOK, EDM Council DCAM).
  • Understanding of healthcare compliance regulations (HIPAA, HITECH, CMS, FDA).
  • Strong communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Support the execution of data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with data stewards and business owners to define and maintain data dictionaries, metadata, and business glossaries.
  • Perform data profiling, validation, and quality checks to identify data issues (duplicates, missing values, inconsistencies).
  • Develop and maintain data quality scorecards and dashboards to monitor key metrics.
  • Analyze structured and unstructured healthcare data (EHR, claims, pharmacy, clinical research, financial).
  • Provide insights into data lineage, accessibility, and usage trends.
  • Work with IT teams to implement data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica Axon, Microsoft Purview).
  • Partner with data privacy and compliance teams to support audits and regulatory requests.
