POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the IT Director, the Database Administrator is responsible for creating, administering and troubleshooting computer databases as well as ensuring the security of information stored in various databases. Duties include using code and web architecture to design data systems, analyze and maintain existing databases and implement reporting and integration of the databases.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven work experience as a Data Base Administrator required.
  • Strong knowledge of database management systems, such as Microsoft SQL Server, ETL and MySQL required.
  • Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and optimizing database performance required.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure, Sage Accounting software, Oasis 360, Agilysys POS/PMS, and Eatac inventory systems desired.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming license through the Bay Mills Gaming Commission and maintain eligibility throughout employment.
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass Motor Vehicle Records Investigation for insurability purposes, required

  • Project leadership ability.
  • Ability to multi-task and make independent prioritization of user requests under limited direction.
  • Previous experience in training individuals in the use of software applications and operating systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Design and test database systems.
  • Develop database documentation.
  • Develop and implement data security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect sensitive information.
  • Work with the front-end development team and users to integrate various modules.
  • Build and maintain required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources using AWS and SQL technologies.
  • Build analytical tools to utilize the data pipeline, providing actionable insight into key business performance metrics including operational efficiency, customer acquisition, and various other key metrics.
  • Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to support their data infrastructure needs while assisting with data-related technical issues.
  • Work with and maintain Sage, Agilisys, Eatac, Gaming, and other database systems to integrate and produce combined reports.
  • Work with end users to fix front-end and back-end software issues.
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope and complexity of the current responsibilities.
  • Must attend any mandatory trainings designated by the Human Resources Department and/or Department Director, including Title 31.
    Physical requirements:
    Typically, the employee may sit for long periods to do the work. However, the work will require physical exertion such as recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities, recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as computers and monitors.
