Job Description RRD is seeking a motivated and energetic individual to come join our team as a DBA Summer Intern! **THIS IS A HYBRID POSITION** Job Summary This internship is designed to facilitate professional growth and learning. The work will be performed under close supervision and direct mentorship, providing immediate guidance and constructive feedback on assignments. You will have the opportunity to actively apply the academic methodologies and processes learned in your coursework to real-world technical assignments. You will gain a hands-on understanding of how your work directly supports organizational objectives and contributes to the overall success of the team. Your Responsibilities may include: Installs, implements, tests and maintains relational database software including patches, updates and upgrades and related hardware. Familiarity with AWS technologies Monitor database performance and provide tuning support. Help with backup and recovery procedures. Assist in managing user permissions and data security. Take inventory of server configurations, permission grants, and unused objects, and provide recommendations for server configuration best practices and database cleanup. Write SQL queries, scripts, and documentation. Support database migration, integration, and deployment projects. Help troubleshoot database issues and provide resolutions. Assist database users with queries and permissions. Work with the team to understand data needs across departments. Other duties as assigned. What you will learn: Hands-on experience with database management tools and real-world enterprise environments. Best practices for database security, performance tuning, and backup and recovery. Collaboration with senior DBAs, developers, and other IT teams. Qualifications Pursuing undergraduate degree Area of Study: Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or related field. Exposure to various operating systems, such as Windows and Linux Coursework in or exposure to any relational database management software. Experience in Microsoft Office products. (Preferred) Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and courage. Strong English communication skills both written and spoken required. Analytical thinkers with a strong attention to detail. Organized and able to manage time and multiple tasks efficiently. Ability to work independently on special projects. Ability to effectively contribute to a team environment Additional Information The rate of pay for this role at the noted location is $24.00 / hour. In addition to base pay, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
