Description:
The IT Developer position will work closely with IT staff in support of bank users across departments (Retail Banking, Treasury Management, Digital Services, Lending, Compliance, etc.) by assisting in the development and maintenance of business process workflows, integration scripts, reports, and analytics. In this entry-level capacity, you will contribute to designing and implementing simple to complex workflow automations, ETL processes, and system-to-system integrations using Cognos reporting and other analytics tools, Python scripting. You may also use MS SQL. You will also participate in testing, debugging, and optimizing code, as well as assisting in deployment and version-control processes. Acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and other IT staff as you will gather requirements, provide status updates, and translate technical deliverables into user-friendly insights. This role emphasizes hands-on learning: as you grow, you will take on incremental responsibilities across solution architecture, data modeling, and process-improvement initiatives. A proactive mindset and strong analytical and communication skills are essential for success.
DOCUMENTATION & KNOWLEDGE SHARING
o Create and update technical documentation, including design specifications, code comments, and user guides.
o Contribute best practices, templates, and troubleshooting tips to the internal knowledge base.
ANALYTICAL & REPORTING SKILLS
o Ability to analyze requirements, convert to technical specifications, and propose design solutions
o Skill in validating data, troubleshooting analytics outputs, and optimizing report performance
o Attention to detail when reviewing code, queries, and workflows
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
o High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields preferred
o Entry-level programming or BI certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals; IBM Cognos Analytics Author) a plus
o Relevant internships, personal projects, or volunteer experience in software development or data analytics strongly value
