SKILLS:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an IT development environment.
  • Proficient in programming languages and frameworks including C#, JavaScript, jQuery, and Visual Basic.
  • Solid understanding of web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and IIS.
  • Experience working with databases and tools, specifically SQL and SQL Server Management Studio
  • Familiarity with development tools such as Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, and Azure Application Insights
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
  • Proven ability to analyse and resolve issues to support operational efficiency
  • Experience contributing to the development of insurance platforms and secondary systems (BDX, MI, API)

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

As an IT Developer, you will lead complex development projects and ensure successful delivery, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and execute technical strategies. You will contribute to architectural decisions and technology roadmaps, supporting the IT Business Analyst to drive continuous improvement initiatives within the IT department. Ensuring a high level of customer service and support is provided to the business at all times.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Platform Development: Collaborate on the development and enhancement of IT platforms to meet business needs securely and reliably.
  • Project Work: Participate in IT projects under the guidance of senior IT staff.
  • System Performance: Support the IT Manager in managing the Iomart environment to ensure optimal website and SQL service performance.
  • Documentation: Maintain and update documentation following project completions or configuration changes.
  • Issue Escalation: Escalate technical issues to relevant stakeholders including IT leadership and third-party vendors.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with business analysts, developers, and underwriting teams to align IT solutions with business requirements.
  • Communication & Coordination: Ensure timely communication of system updates and issues to the business and assist in resource planning for testing.
  • Ticket Management: Monitor and resolve Assist/TCAS Jira tickets promptly, adhering to service level agreements.
  • Best Practices: Follow best practices in development, testing, and deployment processes.
