POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Data Centre Technician (Engineer) , you will play a key role in supporting IT operations and infrastructure within a mission-critical environment. Your responsibilities will include equipment monitoring, inventory management, RMA coordination, and compliance with data and security protocols.

REQUIREMENTS

  • ITE Nitec/Higher Nitec or Diploma in IT, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience in IT support, infrastructure monitoring, or data center operations.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of computer hardware and IT components.
  • Prior experience working in a 24x7x365 production or mission-critical environment is advantageous.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and develop technical competencies.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Server+, Network+, ASICS/Inventory Control, BSC, DCFC, or MCP.
  • Experience with vendor-specific networking certifications.
  • Familiarity with testing mobile applications (iOS and Android) is a plus.
    Work Location: North / West
    Working Hours: 830am to 530pm. Required to work on public holidays if PH falls on weekday.

Responsibilities
  • Execute assigned support tasks and escalate incidents as required, especially during peak operations or issue escalation.
  • Liaise with vendors to initiate and manage warranty claims and RMA processes for hardware, including packaging, shipping, and tracking.
  • Work independently using sound judgment to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in inventory management systems (e.g., CMDB, asset tracking tools).
  • Perform physical inventory tracking and staging; identify and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Conduct secure destruction of data-bearing devices (DBD) in line with SLAs and corporate security policies.
  • Monitor and report low stock levels; escalate procurement needs to management.
  • Adhere to all security, safety, and data handling protocols and policies.
