Furniss & White Foundry Ltd is a family-owned British steel foundry established in 1980. Based in Sheffield, we specialise in high-quality castings, fabrications, and precision machining, supplying various key manufacturing sectors globally with our extensive range of materials.

SUMMARY

We are currently seeking an experienced IT professional to join our team in the role of IT Engineer. The successful candidate will be experienced in providing an effective IT support service and comfortable proactively dealing with IT maintenance & development in this standalone role.

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience resolving IT problems for users
• Experience managing an Active Directory to support user access, group policies and system performance
• Experience of managing a business-critical ERP system
• Exposure to Cyber Essentials (preferred, not essential)
• SQL knowledge
• Commitment to continuous improvement in suggesting and implementing more efficient ways of working

• Manage and maintain Active Directory services and user accounts
• Initiate, coordinate and enforce systems, policies and procedures
• Ensure secure remote access through VPN solutions
• Oversee network installations and upgrades to improve performance
• Ensures security of data, network access and backup systems
• Manage Network and network devices i.e. switches, firewall, VLANs etc
• Manage Firmware and software updates
